About

What Is Uppik

Our Story

We started this brand because of a rising epidemic of poor sleep quality in recent years due to increased stress, overstimulation and anxiety. We wanted to help solve this problem by helping you get better, more natural sleep through the use of innovative and eco-friendly products. It’s important for us to wake you up, so that you can finally sleep.

Uppik means ‘snowy owl’ in the Inuit language; an iconic bird that embodies the arctic and is a symbol for wisdom. It represents our brand’s push for innovation and smart, sustainable materials. Uppik speaks to the cool arctic breeze that comforts us on warm nights, and to that warm, cozy feeling of being tucked under a comforter during those extra chilly evenings.

We Care

natural, healthy

We carefully select natural, plant-based materials to help you be in an environment free from chemicals and pollutions. We design and create products that are not only good for your health, and also for the planet!

Eco-friendly

We choose sustainable, eco-friendly materials in order to create healthier sleep products for you, your children and our planet. These natural materials are biodegradable and require much less water, energy and chemicals to manufacture. This makes Uppik products better and healthier for both you and the environment.

SUSTAINABLE SOURCE

Bamboo naturally regenerates after harvesting. Since the remaining roots continue to live and hold the surrounding soil together, this reduces soil degradation and allows for more sustainable farming. This means Bamboo is an amazingly sustainable source for textiles and other product manufacturing.

SMART PACKAGING

We reuse our fabric cut-offs and sew them into bags for packaging. The result is a reusable drawstring bag you can take to the gym, carry your delicates when traveling, and store your clean bedding.

Bamboo

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on the planet. It doesn’t require irrigation, pesticides or herbicides to grow. It produces more O2 and takes in more CO2 than other trees. This improves the air we breathe and helps fight the effects of greenhouse gasses. Bamboo is native in almost every country around the world and can grow just about anywhere that has a hot, humid climate. Bamboo naturally regenerates after harvesting. Since the remaining roots continue to live and hold the surrounding soil together, this reduces soil degradation and allows for more sustainable farming. This means Bamboo is an amazingly sustainable source for textiles and other product manufacturing.

We use 100% rayon derived from organically grown bamboo for our premium sheets. Our sheets are 100% biodegradable and decompose completely through biological means. 100% rayon derived from bamboo naturally resists mold thanks to its unique properties. It also maintains a naturally cool feeling due to its moisture-wicking properties.

Sustainable Promise

In a world affected by global warming, man-made fibers are the future of the textile industry. Through regenerative and biodegradable plant sources we are able to use less water, energy and chemicals to create cooler fabrics that wick away moisture and heat while naturally resisting mold.

Our pillows are composed of a US patented soft but supportive, USDA certified biobased memory foam that absorbs both static and dynamic energy providing you superior comfort and support. These pillows are so natural, you could actually grow plants on them!
