Care Instructions

Our bamboo duvet sets are oversized to allow for the possibility of shrinking in the first few washes, so please don’t worry if your product is slightly larger to start with.

We care for your Bamboo bedding and want to see them keeping you sleeping better than ever, and we guess you do too, so… How to care for your :

Sheets :

Our soft bamboo sheets are made for your everyday use, and they’re easy to care for. Just make sure you use :
Cold water setting at 30°C max
A gentle cycle or a high water level option if your machine has this feature.
Remember to wash your sheets separately because zippers, hooks and rough fabric like denim (Jeans), can cause pilling and excess abrasion. You can put them in a net washing bag if you don’t have time to separate them.

Laundry detergent and softener

Use a mild laundry detergent, liquid detergent works even better. If you prefer powder detergent, make sure it has dissolved before adding your bamboo sheets to the wash.

Fabric softener is not needed with our sheets – they are already soft and will stay that way after washing. Laundry Softener is growingly irrelevant and can even damage soft fabrics and coat them with a water repellent coating damaging their moisture wicking properties, so just no need to use them on our products.

Brightener/Whitener

We suggest not to use any fabric whitening detergent with harsh chemicals on your bamboo sheets. You can try a baking soda and vinegar mixture as a mild ‘bleach’. Start by adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to the wash cycle if machine washing, or at the same time that you add detergent if hand washing. Next, add 1/2 cup of white vinegar during the rinse cycle. These two ingredients help brighten white fabrics. However, it is important to add them during separate cycles and avoid combining them, as this causes a chemical reaction.

* Please note this method could cause fading on dark colours so use it only with care on our light colors. You can test the solution first on a hidden area or the bamboo fabric bag your bedding comes in.

Drying and stain removal

If possible, line dry your sheets by draping them flat on the line in a shaded place to preserve fibres, colours and texture, your sheets will also straighten out when you line dry them! If you use a dryer, choose a low heat or airing setting and a low tumble cycle. As soon as the dryer finishes, remove your sheets from the dryer immediately to avoid wrinkles.

Should I iron my Bamboo sheets?

Bamboo fabric drapes very well. Wrinkles from washing and folding gradually go away in a few uses. Lay the sheets flat on your bed after washing and drying, by the time you hit the bed at night, they will be flat and fresh, ready to give you the good night’s sleep you deserve.
If you are after a crispier look, you can iron them at a low temperature.

Removing stains from my bamboo sheets

Bleach is a big no-no when it comes to our delicate bamboo fabric, it is too harsh that it would damage the surface and eat a hole in your sheets. Try a mild, eco-friendly pre-soak and stain remover for removing light stains.

If you use a stain remover, we suggest doing a test on the bamboo fabric bag your bedding comes in to make sure the product doesn’t damage the fabric at all.

Maintenance
Do bamboo sheets pill ?

As bamboo is a very soft fabric, you may notice slight pilling with initial use. This can be reduced or removed during the washing and drying process (as per the care instructions). Slight pilling is normal for gentle fibres, especially in response to friction and isn’t a fault or defect.

To prevent excessive pilling, we suggest going to bed with soft clothing or just naked. To prevent friction from dry skin and rough patches on feet, try applying moisturiser to affected areas.
In case of slight pilling, try to run a de-pilling brush over the fabric gently.

Bamboo mattress protector

You can wash them in the washing machine. Use a cold, gentle cycle, with mild liquid detergent. We would recommend washing them separately to protect the delicate bamboo shell. You can also use an eco-friendly pre-soak for stain removal. The waterproof coating layer on the back of the mattress protector will be damaged by excessive washing, therefore we recommend to spot clean them and not wash them on a regular basis. Hang dry them in a shaded area to prevent overheating of the waterproof coating.

Pillow cover

You can wash them in the washing machine. Use up to 40 °C, gentle cycle, with mild liquid detergent. We would recommend washing them separately to protect the delicate Tencel fabric and also avoiding hurting other items with the pillow cover’s zipper. Hang dry them in a shaded area. Ironing is optional if needed.

The pillow core is not washable, please don’t put it in the washing machine. If needed use a wet cloth to remove stains.

Swaddle and Winter Swaddle

You can wash them in the washing machine. Use up to 40 °C, gentle cycle, with mild liquid detergent. We would recommend washing them in a net washing bag to protect the gentle bamboo fabric.
Fabric softener is not needed with our bamboo swaddle/blankets – they are already soft and will stay that way after washing. Softener will decrease the breathability of the fabric therefore we recommend avoiding it.

Towels

To keep our soft and mold free towels last for longer we add a free washing bag to protect the soft fibers from catching on zippers or other rough fabrics. We know you don’t always have the time to separate laundry so we got you covered !

If possible wash your towels separately, in warm water 40 °C, using a mild, environmentally friendly detergent. These detergents are available in the cleaning products section of most grocery stores. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.

Use the extra rinse cycle– Over time, detergent residue can also build up on towel fibers, especially if too much detergent is used. To prevent this from happening, use the extra rinse cycle and make sure your washer isn’t overloaded so that the towels have room to move freely. To remove detergent build-up, add a cup of white vinegar when washing and don’t forget the extra rinse cycle to keep the towels from smelling like vinegar!

It’s better to hang dry them in shaded dry areas. You can put your bamboo towels in the dryer but on the lowest heat setting. We recommend you take them out immediately when they are dry, otherwise they will overheat in the dryer and become stiff.

The beautiful color of our towels is stable and colorfast. However, some chemical agents such as chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, some toothpastes and teeth whiteners, and benzoyl peroxide will cause the towels to discolor or fade. Please try to keep your towels away from these substances.
